Most people hear "Lucky Bag" and think it is a gamble where you end up with random junk you don't need. But here is the hack: If you go to the cosmetics floor (or places like Apita/Piago where I went), many of the Lucky Bags are "Visible Fukubukuro" (Nakami ga mieru). They tell you exactly what is inside! My "No-Gamble" Haul: ✨ Perfume Set: Jimmy Choo + 2 others for 79% OFF! I paid ¥3,300 for a set worth over ¥16,000. 🤯 ✨ Nail Set: A 15-piece set from "pa" (my fave brand). It was 86% OFF! I got 8 colours plus oils and tools for only ¥1,100. 💅 Total Cost: ¥4,400 (£22 / $29). That is my entire year's supply of cologne and nail stuff sorted for less than a dinner out. I almost made this mistake my first year. Did you know there are specific days you CANNOT hang your New Year’s decorations in Japan? 🗓️ ❌ Dec 29: The number 9 sounds like "Suffering" (Ku).
